Why should you consider a whole house water filtration system?

whole house water filtration systemWater is one of our most precious resources. Yet we seem to waste this precious resource more than any other. Dripping faucet, no problem. Wash the car, just get the hose. Water is such an important part of our lives. Without water, there could be no life. Let’s take a look at how a whole house water filtration system  can help us protect our most important resource, potable (drinkable) water.

Every day in the news they talk about water problems. Water problems that could easily be solved with a whole house filter system. As I write this, the news is still covering the oil spill in the Gulf on Mexico.

They found water contamination at Sevastopol School District in Wisconsin, and they are contemplating legal action over a proposed solution to well water contamination near Fairbanks, Alaska. Wait, I thought Alaska was the great wilderness with beautiful countryside and crystal clear water. Well the water may be clear, but they definitely have some contamination problems in the ground water. People that live in these areas need a whole house water filtration system.

On September 29th, 2010 The Middletown Press ran a story on water. It seems that trace amounts of arsenic were found in wells, in the Durham, CT area.

The Middletown Press story went on to advise the residents that live or work near Brewster Elementary School, that they should have their water tested within the next 3-6 weeks. The story also goes on to talk about the health problems associated with arsenic. Skin melanosis, which is discoloration of the skin, hardening of the skin and cancer. The story also went on to say that Bill Milardo, town sanitation, stated that arsenic in drinking water is not common. He also went on to say that there is no cause for alarm as of now. I wonder if Mr Milardo has a whole house water filtration system.

So I guess I don’t understand. When do we get alarmed? There is arsenic in their drinking water. Arsenic was poison, the last time I checked. And the story admits that it can cause cancer. Let’s see, poison, causes cancer, near and possibly in an elementary school. OK, no problem. I’m sorry but I would be concerned. And I would fix this problem fast and protect my loved ones by simply installing the proper whole house water filtration system. I’d probably have neighbors coming over to use my shower because of my whole house water filtration system.

I have to say that I am surprised at how laid-back we are all becoming. I mean as long as the cable TV is still on, we’re good. Toxic water, no problem. Oil spill in the gulf, poor fish. It’s time for people to wake up! It’s time for people to take a little responsibility for themselves. There are several whole house water filtration systems that will remove arsenic. But I would bet that the people living in these areas are just sitting back, waiting for someone to come and save them.

The good news is that there is some good news about water. On October 5th, 2010 The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) rescinded the boil water advisory that it has issued to the City of Sedan.

Thank goodness the residents of Sedan, Kansas no longer have to boil their water. I wonder how many of the people living in Sedan now own a whole house water filtration system.
